Swimming Pools & Beach
You are welcome to take a dip in one of our pools or in the lake! The indoor pool and all amenities within are open from 6:00am to 10:30pm daily, 365 days a year. The outdoor pool is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm daily. Please use your keycard when accessing the indoor pool facilities, and please visit the front desk if you would like access to the fitness center. For your safety please obey all posted signage. No lifeguards are on duty, and all activities in these areas are at your own risk.

Kayak & Stand-Up Paddleboard Rentals
All rentals are available seasonally from 10:00am until 5:00pm, at the rentals hut in our beach area. Guests must be at least 21 years of age to rent. Each guest is required by law to wear a lifejacket, which are included with all rentals.

Arcade Game Room
Our fully equipped game room, located on the beach level of the Lakefront building, features video arcades, air hockey, basketball, and other skill games that are sure to entertain guest of all ages! The game room is open seasonally 8:00am until 11:00pm.

Beverages, lunch and dinner items are available at the Gazebo Beach Bar, however beverage service is only permitted in the designated beach area.
The Margate is a licensed food and beverage establishment, therefore food items or alcoholic beverages procured from outside sources are strictly prohibited in any public area including all areas listed above.

Beach Activities
Located on the beach, the Activities Hut is open during the summer season where our watercraft rentals are located.  This is also where you can exchange your beach towels for fresh ones.

Boat & Trailer Parking
All boats and trailers must be parked across the street from the main building on the lawn area near our Maintenance facility.  Trailers should never be parked in paved parking lots that are intended for automobiles.  Please contact us for assistance.

Business Center
Located just off the main lobby for the convenience of our in-house guests, this room is set up with a work area with two computer workstations and a printer. We also offer a nice selection of books to borrow. Use your guest room keycard for access.

All demominations are nearby. There is a schedule of services at the Front Desk.

Check-Out / Check-In Time
Check-out time is before 11:00am. Please notify the Front Desk of any intention to extend your stay. Extensions are given subject to room availability. Unless notification is given, the room will be considered vacated and any articles left int he room will be removed by management. We will not be held responsible for loss or theft.
Check-in time is after 4:00pm. Early arrivals are invited to use the hotel facilities while waiting for their room. Priority early check-in options are available. Please inquire at the Front Desk or ask for details when making future reservations.

Cots & Pack ‘n Plays
Cots are available for $15.00+tax per night. Pack ‘n Plays are available free of charge. Please inquire at the Front Desk. Availability is limited.

Docks
Boat docks are available on a first-come first-served basis only.

Dress
Casual attire is one of the keystones of The Margate’s informality and charm. During the day, and at breakfast, sports clothes and shorts are quite in order. While indoors we ask that footwear and cover-ups be worn in public areas when going to and from the pools or beach.

Fax & Photocopy Services
Small batches are available free of charge at the Front Desk. For larger jobs please speak with a manager.

Game Room
Fun for everyone! Located on the beach level of the Lakefront building. Open seasonally 8:00am until 11:00pm. Great selection of video arcade machines, air hockey, skill games, and a change machine.

Ice & Vending Machines
There are ice and vending machines located in each building. Please refer to the resort map.

Incidentals
Complimentary local newspapers and brochures are available in the main lobby.

Internet Access
Complimentary wireless internet access is available in all guest rooms and in most public areas. Simply connect to the strongest signal detected with a Margate SSID. Be sure to be using the most basic and default internet settings on your device. Please refer to the main menu of this directory for the current Wi-Fi password. The hotel staff cannot provide further technical support or troubleshooting other than to check that our systems are online and functioning.

Noise Policy

Maintaining a quiet and peaceful environment on guest floors is one of our highest priorities. For this reason, we handle noise complaints in the following manner :

  • Upon the first noise complaint, we will issue a warning to the offending guest.
  • If a second complaint is received, everyone but the registered guest(s) will be required to leave the offending guest room.
  • In the event of a third complaint, the offending guest(s) will be evicted from the resort without refund.

Pets
For the comfort of all our guests, The Margate does not allow pets of any kind. Guests who bring animals into their room will be asked to leave immediately and room payment will not be returned. A $250 cleaning/room recovery fee may be assessed. Service animals that provide assistance for guests with disabilities are not considered pets and are not subject to this policy.

Smoking Policy
The Margate Resort is a 100% smoke free hotel. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all buildings and guest rooms. A $250 recovery fee may be applied for smoking in guest rooms. Designated smoking areas are provided outside.

Television
All rooms have remote controlled flat screen TVs with Dish Network Satellite Service. If you experience any loss of service that is not weather related, please contact us for assistance.

Tipping
One of the most frequently asked questions is when and how much? 18-20% is suggested for food and beverage services. Tipping for housekeeping services is typically $2.00 to $5.00 per day.

Additional Services
Irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, coffee makers, and refrigerators are provided in each room. Other frequently requested items are available at the Front Desk so should you need anything, please contact guest services and we will try our best to accommodate you.


Visitor Policy
The amenities of the Margate Resort are provided for the exclusive use of registered guests only. This includes our beach area and other outdoor spaces, indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpool, sauna, exercise facility, and all other hotel amenities. While non-registered individuals may visit guests in their rooms, the use of our hotel amenities is not permitted.

Food & Beverage Policy
As a licensee of the NH State Liquor Commission, The Margate Resort is responsible for the administration of the following regulations :

  • Personal food and beverage items not sold through the resort may only be consumed inside guest rooms. For guests occupying the motel style West building rooms, personal food and beverage items may also be consumed directly outside the guest room door.
  • Grills and other cooking devices are not permitted anywhere on the resort property.
  • No food or beverage items may be consumed in any public areas of the hotel.
  • Any food or beverage items purchased through the resort must remain in the licensed area where the items were purchased. Transporting or consuming any alcoholic beverage items throughout the hotel public areas is strictly prohibited.
Smoking Policy

Boat & Trailer Parking
All boats and trailers must be parked across the street from the main building on the lawn area near our Maintenance facility.  Please contact us for assistance.
Like all buildings, hotels and motels CAN have fires. Plan what to do in the event of an emergency when you check in. You won’t have time to plan during a fire.
  • First, find two exits nearest your room. Be sure they are unlocked and unblocked. Then count doors between your room and exits so you’ll have a reference point if it’s smoky.
  • When you hear an alarm, ACT, don’t investigate.
  • If fire is in your room, get out and close the door. Once out, report the fire.
  • If fire is not in your room, leave if you can. First, feel your door, if it’s cool, open it slowly and go to the nearest exit. Crawl if there is smoke, fresher air will be at the floor. Take your key card so you can go back if you can’t use the exits.
  • NEVER USE ELEVATORS DURING A FIRE. They could stop at the fire floor, or could cease to operate.
  • If your door is hot, don’t open it. Your room may be the safest place to be. Seal all cracks with wet towels. Shut off fans and air conditioners. Signal out your window. Call the Front Desk and wait to be rescued.

Your Best Defense Against Fire is to Plan Ahead!

Your safety and the security of your personal property are of the utmost concern to all of us who welcome you as our guest. We urge you to take advantage of the following precautions.

KEY CARDS
Please carry and safeguard your keycard at all times. Our property is for the exclusive use of our resort guests. Our security staff may request your keycard in certain locations to maintain the privacy of the resort.

DOUBLE LOCKS
For additional security, utilize the deadbolt lock provided on your door while occupying the room. This will prevent the door from being opened by a regular key card.

ADMITTANCE
Do not admit persons to your room without first making identification. If there is any doubt about a person’s identity, please contact the Front Desk.

PERSONAL ITEMS & VALUABLES
The Margate Resort is not liable for any lost or stolen items. If an item is lost, please contact us immediately so that we may assist in any recovery effort.Personal combination safes are located at the Front Desk if any valuables need to be safely stored instead of being left in your guest room.
